Description
GMS170 Combined Coalescing & Membrane Separator
The Headline Filters GMS170 combines a high-efficiency coalescing filter and a hydrophobic/oleophobic PTFE membrane separator in a single compact housing.
Designed for analyser and sample conditioning systems, the GMS170 provides two stages of protection before the sample reaches the analyser. The integral 50CS coalescing element removes the majority of liquid aerosols and particulate contamination, while the downstream PTFE membrane provides a final barrier against liquid carryover.
This combined design provides reliable analyser protection while reducing the amount of contamination reaching the membrane, helping to extend membrane service life and reduce maintenance.
Two-Stage Sample Protection
Stage 1 – Coalescing Filtration
The incoming gas sample first passes through Headline Filters' high-efficiency 50CS coalescing filter element.
This stage removes fine liquid aerosols, droplets and particulate contamination from the sample before it reaches the membrane.
Stage 2 – Membrane Separation
The conditioned gas then passes across a hydrophobic/oleophobic PTFE membrane.
Gas and vapour pass through the membrane to the analyser, while entrained liquids are prevented from passing into the clean sample outlet.
The result is a conditioned gas sample with a greatly reduced risk of liquid carryover reaching sensitive downstream instrumentation.

Proven in Real-World Moisture Analyser Systems
The Headline Filters GMS170 is used within analyser sample conditioning systems where reliable protection against aerosols, particulate contamination and liquid carryover is required.
Shown here is a GMS170 installed within a Michell moisture analyser sampling system during commissioning of a gas processing application.
This type of installation demonstrates how the combined coalescing and membrane design can provide a final protective stage before sensitive moisture analysis instrumentation.

Easy Maintenance
The GMS170 has been designed for straightforward servicing in analyser shelters and sample conditioning systems.
The coalescing element and membrane can be accessed without removing the housing from the process pipework, reducing maintenance time and helping minimise analyser downtime.
A complete GMS170 service kit is available containing the replacement 50CS coalescing element, M2H membrane and associated seals and service components.
Need Help Selecting a Membrane Separator?
The GMS170 is particularly suited to applications where the sample contains aerosols, particulate contamination or intermittent liquid carryover and a high level of analyser protection is required.
